In consideration of 1) add lightness, i had some (very little) free time on my hands, and saw that the bracket that holds the center console is stamped steel. great for cost effectiveness but oh my, look at all that unnecessary weight!. The center console you simply pop off the two side pieces and push the new ones on and with the center console armrest with the hinge, i actually just unscrewed the two screws underneath the cloth piece, popped that off and swapped it with the leather top piece. I used tool from previous center consol installation together with the ones included. i also had to heat up and change the angel of the tools to get down in the pocket, when trying to get the leather in the gap on the inside out side. You need to fix all the small stuff thats messed with the console first. the cig lighter is cracked, tray looks jacked up, shift boot etc. these small details are what can make or break a project like this. Personally i wound up ordering the touring leather armrests for the doors (for some reason they are reasonably priced for my coupe), and may eventually bite the bullet and get the upgraded 2019 honda leather center console (with the light strips).
